Enhanced Connectivity for Fadal CNC Machining Centers

The LANUSB-FAD controller from CNCPros is a purpose-built hardware solution that modernizes data management for Fadal CNC machines. This unique controller seamlessly integrates an FTP server, along with USB flash drive support, directly into the CNC's control architecture. This upgrade provides Fadal machines with essential network and local storage capabilities.

Operators can now transfer program files to and from the data server using a standard Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection. The controller's primary advantage is its ability to handle large files that exceed the CNC's internal memory capacity. These programs can be drip-fed (DNC) directly from either the data server or an attached USB flash drive, with no file size limitations on the drive itself. The controller includes a standard 8 GB of internal storage, with options available for expanded memory.

Seamless Operation and Simplified Workflow

The LANUSB-FAD is designed for effortless integration into existing workflows. It operates using standard PC software, such as a web browser, and requires no additional licenses or proprietary interface software. A programmer can simply use a drag-and-drop function to transfer files from their PC to the data server. Once a file is on the server, an operator can either load it into the machine’s memory or initiate a drip-feed program. Operators can also save existing programs from the machine's memory back to the server for easy archiving.

All controller commands are executed through the Fadal machine's pendant keypad, with file information displayed on the monitor as if it were an native part of the control. An intuitive help menu provides a list of all available commands, eliminating the need for operators to memorize complex file management syntax. Advanced functionality, such as a search and mid-tape start function, is also included. This allows an operator to quickly restart a program at a specific point—a critical feature for recovering from a tool break. For maximum data integrity, the system also supports the X-Modem protocol.
